Emily has worked as the senior editor for Ottawa Magazine, the web editor and social media manager for Taste and Travel Magazine, she was the lead writer and content strategist for the creative branding agency Northern Army, and she is also the founder of the online music publication Damn Magazine. Emily has a Masters of Journalism from the Carleton School of Journalism. Her research explores innovative business models of magazines in the face of technological disruption. She once spent a year sailing offshore aboard a 41-foot Newport in the South Pacific.
Joanne has worked as an associate producer with CBC Radio in Ottawa and before that she worked with CBC’s communications team. In this work she initiated, managed and contributed to a number of social media accounts. In addition to working with sound, Joanne also specializes in video production and photography. Joanne has a Masters of Journalism from the Carleton School of Journalism. Her research looks at digital transformation in Canadian newspapers.
